In Memory of Barry John Davies

January 26, 1942-July 2, 2024.

There was nothing more important to Barry than family.  When Barry's grandson Sam was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma he moved to Burlington to help with getting Ben to school and supporting Andrea, Jay and Sam.  In 2005, the family started Sam's Day to raise funds for The James Fund for Neuroblastoma Research at Sick Kids.  Over the years, Sam's Day has supported the Sam Lack Drug Discovery Program through The James Fund and raised over $200 000 for Neuroblastoma Research.  

The James Fund continues to help fund the groundbreaking research of Dr. Meredith Irwin Oncologist and Senior Scientist in Cell Biology at Sick Kids and Dr. David Kaplan, Senior Scientist in Neurosciences & Mental Health at Sick Kids. Ben worked in this lab as a Research Summer Student in Cell Biology in the summer of 2019. 

Barry and Fran both supported Sam's Day and the James Fund for many years, through the fundraisers and also the James Fund family retreat at Camp Ooch.
