In remembrance of Doug Tipple’s life, we ask that charitable donations be made to the SickKids Pain Centre, through the SickKids Foundation.

Every person has the potential to make a difference in the life of a child.  Significant pain is common in hospitalized children whether it be from needles, associated with diseases like cancer and arthritis, or as a result of trauma and surgery.  The long-term negative consequences of under-treated pain for kids and their families have become clear; untreated pain may lead to chronic pain with impact on mental health and quality of life and is also a risk factor for opioid use. Doug realized that pain matters and doing something about it matters too.

Your contribution, in Doug’s memory, to the SickKids Pain Centre will help our mission to prevent and minimize pain for all children in a family-centered environment by fostering collaboration, excellence, and innovation among clinicians, researchers and educators. The SickKids Pain Centre is a leading international paediatric centre specializing in pain prevention and treatment; yet there is so much more we need to do.
