KIERA’S BAT MITZVAH
WHAT'S YOUR FUNDRAISING IDEA?
“Due to covid restrictions not all of our family and friends could attend my bat mitzvah (a ceremony signifying a child’s transition into adulthood in the Jewish community). I was so sad that I couldn’t do a bat mitzvah project, and this is the way I could do a good deed. I didn’t want people who couldn’t come to feel obligated to give a gift, so my idea was, if they felt inspired, to consider a donation to SickKids.
WHY SICKKIDS?
“I was inspired by my best friends. They tragically lost a close friend at a very young age, and they always step up to support SickKids.”
WHAT'S YOUR ADVICE TO SOMEONE STARTING A FUNDRAISER?
“Choose something you are passionate about. Spread the message to your family and friends. And make sure that you’re communicating your ‘why’ your fundraising mission.”
