We are raising money for SickKids Foundation in honour of our warrior Emilia Rose. This money is directly going to the Heart Centre so that it can be used to help for research and equipment to save other heart warriors like our Emilia. 

Although we only got 12 days with our sweet girl, they were the best 12 days of our life and they were thanks to the amazing team at SickKids hospital. In particular thanks to Emilia’s cardiologist Dr. Freud, and cardiac surgeon Dr. Honjo. They gave Emilia her fighting chance and they will continue to give other babies and children with Ebstein’s Anomaly (as well as other congenital heart defects) fighting chances. 

For those who don’t know, Emilia had severe Ebstein’s Anomaly and we were told she had an extremely low chance of survival; so low that the Children’s hospital in Vancouver was unable to help her unless she made it full term. The chances of her making it full term were unlikely, as she was in heart failure by 24-weeks in utero. This is where SickKids played such a vital role. They have a world renowned heart centre where they treat all kinds of complicated heart conditions including severe cases of Ebstein’s anomaly. They agreed to try to save Emilia even if she was premature. Although our Angel is no longer with us, SickKids did everything they could to give her the best chance. She was a warrior and she fought to give us those days and what the doctors say they learned from her case is going to be able to save many babies going forward. Our girl is a true hero. 

We know Emilia’s purpose is far greater than we will ever even understand. We know our sweet girl’s story is going to save the lives of many babies, and this is just one of the ways. 

Please help us honour our sweet girl with a plaque at the hospital all while supporting a world renowned hospital that saves many babies and children.
